Worldwide, TURCK, a 46 year-old leading manufacturer in industrial automation with offerings of 13,000 sensor, field bus, interface and connectivity products, maintains operations in 25 countries and employs 2,100. TURCK is focused on the factory and process automation industries, and producing products that uphold uncompromising standards for reliability and functionality. The company distinguishes itself by simultaneously offering innovation, service and technical support.
The company, a pioneer in industrial automation technology, traces its origins to Halver, Germany where in the 1960’s, Hans and Werner Turck, along with Hermann Hermes, set out to automate production processes by using non-contact electronic components. TURCK quickly grew from being an upstart to a leading producer role in non-contact proximity sensors, flow monitors, molded cord sets and connectors, and interface products.
The company opened US facilities at the offices of Banner Engineering in Minneapolis in 1975, and 11 years later moved its headquarters to a technological park campus in Plymouth, Minnesota. In 1997, TURCK and Banner Engineering formed a joint venture, Interlink BT, specializing in networks and interface products. Seven years later, TURCK acquired all the shares of Interlink.
Today, TURCK’s distribution channel consists of independent locations across North America with a sales force of 2,000. Canadian offices are based in Markham, Ontario. The company does not sell directly to the consumer.
