CBC CONNECT is a Miamisburg, Ohio-based manufacturer of value-added electrical products used throughout the construction, agriculture, and industrial and transportation equipment industries, and has been manufacturing at The Offshore Group’s La Angostura Industrial Park in Saltillo since 2005.

The manufacturer, part of the Carlton Bates Company, produces electrical wire harnesses and cable assemblies, makes custom wiring harnesses, instrument panels and control assemblies for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of mobile machinery, industrial equipment emergency and commercial vehicles. It  also offers electrical design services and build-to-print contract assembly capabilities.

It started its operation in Saltillo, Mexico with 15 employees and originally occupied 10,000 square-feet. Today, exponential growth due in part to contracts with emergency- Industrial equipment producer, E-One, or Emergency One, Classic Fire, American LaFrance, Altec, Ingersoll Rand (Doosan) and Halliburton, has pushed employment at the Mexico manufacturing facility close to 190 and the company occupies almost three times its original square footage.

From its plant in Saltillo, Mexico CBC CONNECT ships its production to and from Mexico through a warehouse in Mission, Texas, and then on to one of WESCO-Carlton Bates’ 400-plus distribution points throughout the United States and Canada.

The story of the company’s growth in the US, and then Mexico, was that of a firm that initially devoted to mere distributing. Over time, customers requested value-added services related to  electric connectors and cables. As clients sought specific changes, CBC CONNECT changed its focus and began producing lines of electrical conductors, cables and original equipment manufacturer, or OEMs,

Under the OEM concept, a company manufactures products or components that are purchased by a company and retailed under the purchasing company’s brand name. OEM, thus, refers to the company that originally manufactured the product. When alluding to automotive parts, for example, OEM designates a replacement part made by the manufacturer of the original part.

CBC CONNECT is a subsidiary of WESCO International, Inc., a publicly traded Fortune 500 holding company, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose primary operating entity is WESCO Distribution, Inc. That enterprise is a leading distributor of electrical construction products and electrical and industrial maintenance and repair and operating (MRO) supplies. It is the nation’s largest provider of integrated supply services. CBC maintains its engineering and administrative headquarters in Ohio but does have manufacturing engineers present in Saltillo.

Purchasing, providing quotes and customer service are all carried out from Miamisburg. Administrative functions are handled by an Arkansas headquarters.
