Minco Manufacturing LLC is a privately-held company based in Colorado Springs, CO, with a manufacturing plant in that city, as well as in Empalme, Mexico. The company produces fuser rollers, fixing film sleeves and products used worldwide in the imaging equipment business. Minco has supplied over 25 million high-quality fuser rollers to customers since it started operations in 1992.

The Empalme, Mexico plant, which began in 2008, produces Teflon-coated fuser rollers, Silicone-coated Pressure Rolls, fixing-film sleeves and remanufactures drum cartridges for use in the office-imaging industry.

End users of the product line include Canon, Minolta, Sharp, Xerox, HP and virtually every other brand. Robotics and MDM in the manufacturing process assure every part meets strict quality standards. MDM uses different coatings to meet individual needs, including injection molding and Teflon® coatings.

The manufacturing plant in Mexico boasts a combination of cutting-edge equipment. Included is the Staubli RX130 robotic arm, a GMF robotic arm and an Okuma LB-15 lathe.

Products include tube-type, thick tube-type, friction welded, and CNC formed journal-type fuser roller cores. Fuser roller cores are precision coated with one of over 50 unique non-stick coatings. Optimal coating for each application is determined during Minco’s extensive development process.

Visitors to the Mexico manufacturing plant will witness a process that includes an oven-curing process for Teflon® where coated rollers are heated to 200 degrees Celsius or 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature that can cure any kind of finish or Teflon. This custom-made oven can handle rollers varying from 6-to-36 inches.

The remainder of the process includes a final wash line, silicone injection, molding, cooling, a silicon hardening system, liquid injector molding, laser-coating and visual and instrumental inspections,. From the plant, rollers are dispatched to any of the 144 countries where Minco does business.

High-quality materials, such as genuine DuPont TEFLON® brand coatings and other custom coatings, result in high-quality fuser rollers. Minco’s proprietary processes control fuser roller surface finishing meeting exacting customer specifications, and producing fuser roller surfaces virtually free of defects.

Expertise in machining and manufacturing techniques allow Minco to develop new fuser rollers and other products that require high precision machining and high speed manufacturing processes. Minco continues to investigate and establish additional products at its Mexico manufacturing plant that expand upon its core capabilities.
