Manufacturing in
Mexico Summit
Learn more about The Offshore Group's yearly gathering of manufacturers in Mexico.
Mexico sourcing of consumables is done by The Offshore Group for its client firms resulting in economies of scale and savings that have been developed over the last 22 years at The Offshore Group’s industrial parks.
Each year, an approximate $50 million dollars in goods and services ranging from MRO items to electrical power from suppliers and service providers in Mexico are procured by Offshore Group staff on behalf of the company’s clients. Vendors are located in proximity to the Group’s Saltillo and Sonora industrial parks.
Mexico sourcing of consumable items in volume enables The Offshore Group to negotiate and obtain significant discounts which are passed through to clients for day-to-day goods and services. Vendor quality is managed through feedback obtained from client staff, and through surveys.
The timeliness of deliveries, quality of goods or of the service, and overall value are captured in the procurement system to assist clients in making future Mexico sourcing decisions. A key service provided by our procurement organization is bidding. Typically, 3 bids will be sought for first-time purchased items, and rebidding will take place at least once a year on high-volume and/or high-priced items. Purchasing activity and historical reports are available to clients upon request for analysis.
