ChemResearch to Open Guaymas Plating Facility

Phoenix, Arizona-based ChemResearch has finalized an agreement with The Offshore Group that will enable it to commence operations in 8,900 square feet of industrial space at The Bellavista Industrial Park in Empalme, Sonora, Mexico. The Phoenix firm provides metal finishing services to companies in the electronics and aerospace industries such as anodizing, electroless nickel, electrolytic nickel, copper, silver and hard chromium plating, in addition to precision grinding, plating and a number of corrosion conversion processes.

According to company president, Richard Burge, "our decision to locate a facility in Northern Mexico was predicated upon research that demonstrates a significant unmet demand for the services that we offer. This fact, combined with the absence of a Nadcap certified firm in Sonora, provides ChemResearch with an incredible 'first mover's' opportunity".

ChemResearch was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1956. During its history it has developed intellectual property that has been utilized by world-class manufacturers such as McDonnell Douglas, United Technologies and Honeywell. Quality of Offshore Group Industrial Parks Recognized

Mexico's Economics Ministry has recognized the world-class quality of the infrastructure that serves The Offshore Group's manufacturing firm clientele in the country's states of Sonora and Coahuila. All three of the group's industrial parks have been certified under Mexico's Normas Oficiales, or Official Norms.

The evaluation that led to the certification of the Bellavista, Roca Fuerte, and the La Angostura industrial parks was concluded on April 20, 2004 by CIEN Consulting, an independent firm contracted by Mexico's federal government. The Ministry of economics has afforded similar recognition to only five additional industrial parks in the country.

The Mexican Government evaluates and certifies industrial parks located in its national territory for the purpose of enhancing the competitiveness of the country's economy, as well as to advise potential investors of the quality of investment options that are available to them.
