Horst Engineering to Initiate Operations in The Offshore Group's Roca Fuerte Industrial Park

 

Horst Engineering and Manufacturing Co., of East Hartford, Connecticut will establish a new manufacturing facility in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico under The Offshore Group’s Shelter Program. The company will lease 18,326 square feet of industrial space at the Roca Fuerte Industrial Park. This move will substantially expand Horst's capacity to produce close tolerance precision-machined aerospace and medical components.

Simultaneously, Horst officials reported that the company would be increasing its recruiting activities in Connecticut, and will be seeking to add experienced manufacturing employees to handle anticipated sales growth, particularly in the aerospace and medical products industries.

When fully staffed, Horst Engineering de Mexico will employ approximately 50 individuals at the new facility in Guaymas   This factory will replace a smaller Horst Engineering facility at Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. About half of the employees from the Nogales operation will take positions in Guaymas.


"The new factory will help to us lay the groundwork for future expansion and will allow us service customers in Mexico and the Southwestern U.S. , as well as to develop new and profitable relationships with others; relationships we expect will benefit the operations in Connecticut as well as in Mexico," said Scott Livingston, Horst Engineering Chief Executive Officer. The Guaymas facility will also augment our international presence.  This an increasingly important consideration for a number of our customers."

Horst Engineering, founded in 1946, is a contract manufacturer of precision machined components and assemblies for high technology industries. Its core processes include Swiss screw machining, turning, milling, thread rolling, centerless grinding, and assembly.

The Offshore Group to host Aerospace Manufacturing in Mexico Conference in Guaymas, Sonora

 

Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, home to one of the fastest growing aerospace industry clusters in the country, will be the site of a conference that will take place on May 14-15, 2009.  Executives from aerospace manufacturing firms contemplating Mexico projects are invited to attend.

Harco Laboratories Expands under The Offshore Group Shelter

 

Harco Laboratories has recently completed an expansion at The Offshore Group's Bellavista Industrial Park in Empalme, Sonora. Due to its continued growth, and in support of its customer base, the company has expanded into a larger facility. With the completion of this expansion Harco Laboratories now has over 80,000 square feet of space for manufacturing, design and support between its Connecticut and Mexico facilities.

Harco has been in business since 1951 and is a designer and manufacturer of component hardware and air data systems for aerospace, industrial and marine applications. A partial listing of the companies that Harco  supplies include; Hamilton Sundstrand, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Boeing, Eaton Aerospace, Eclipse Aviation, Embraer, Pilatus Aircraft, Rolls Royce, Spirit Aerosystems, Sikorsky, all major Airlines, GE Packaged Power Services, the U.S Government, and operators of GE LM 1600, 2500, 5000, 6000 and LMS100 series gas turbines and Pratt & Whitney FT8 and FT4 series gas turbines.

Offshore Group Company, Vangtel, Welcomes New Client to Hermosillo, Sonora

 

Results Technologies, Inc. of Dania Beach, Florida provider of global contact center solutions, recently signed a four year agreement for the provision of outsourced business support or, shelter, services with The Offshore Group’s Vangtel subsidiary.

The company will immediately occupy approximately 7,000 square feet of space at the Vangtel’s Hermosillo BPO center, and anticipates adding another 6,000 square feet as their operations expand.  The company will hire approximately 350 workers in 2009 to conduct a diversity of customer care activities. 

According to the company’s Chief Operation Officer, Alec Brecker, “Vangtel offers us a business model that will enable us to conduct business in a low-cost, low-risk environment.  The Shelter Program business model that The Offshore Group has pioneered is a context within which we can lower our costs, increase our profit margins and retain full control over our processes and quality.  The Hermosillo location is was a significant factor in our decision to go with Vangtel in that the city is able to provide a well educated, bilingual workforce that is capable of getting the job done”.

International Logistics Solutions (ILS) Offers Supply Chain Solutions in Saltillo

 

The Offshore Group’s ILS subsidiary has recently positioned itself to offer its varied mix of supply chain solutions to companies in the Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.   

As a third-party logistics service provider, International Logistics Solutions will offer FTL, LTL, flatbeds, special equipment, express shipment, consolidated shipping and ocean freight services to local and regional businesses. 

The ILS Company provides live event tracking, electronic waybill systems, electronic request for quote systems, end-to-end design, import/export services and transportation management.
