The Offshore Group recently completed the construction of a Manufacturing Technology Training Center within the confines of its Roca Fuerte Industrial Park in Guaymas, Sonora. This new educational facility will attend to the staffing needs of The Offshore Group’s increasingly sophisticated and expanding customer base.
At present the Center is equipped with CNC machines for the purpose of training current employees in their use. Additional, vocational training will also be provided to members of the local workforce to assure that qualified employees are available as the demand for their services increases. The cost of three months of training for employees of current Offshore Group customers will be covered by funding provided by the Mexican federal government, as well as the government of the State of Sonora.
The Offshore Group also has approximately 100 licenses available to utilize the on-line resources that are available through Tooling University (www.toolingu.com). Spanish language course work is now available to employees of Offshore Group clients. Offerings include:
- Basic Metrology
- Diagram Interpretation and Tolerance Geometrics
- Six Sigma
- Lean Manufacturing
Clients at The Offshore Group’s, Sonora industrial parks can also opt to work with Tooling U to design tailor made courses to address their specific manufacturing needs.
Plans are in motion to make world-class training programs with internationally recognized certifications (i.e., IHK in Germany) available within the confines of the Roca Fuerte Industrial Park with the specific goal of making the Guaymas region the premier aerospace and precision machining center in the Mexican Republic.
